Khums in Islamic jurisprudence refers to allocating one-fifth of financial spoils as a religious obligation. The ruling of Khums is considered one of the important financial regulations in Islam and has long been a subject of attention among Muslim jurists and scholars. This study aims to clarify the position of Khums, examine its economic and social objectives, and analyze its role in achieving social justice. The research has been conducted using a descriptive-analytical method based on library resources. The findings of the study indicate that, beyond its devotional aspect, Khums has significant economic and social functions and can play an important role in the fair distribution of wealth, supporting the needy, and strengthening religious institutions. Moreover, despite differences among Islamic schools of thought regarding the details of its implementation, the principle of this ruling is recognized as an effective instrument within the Islamic financial system. When properly implemented, Khums can contribute to reducing poverty and promoting social justice.
