The compilation of Hadith, from the era of Prophet hood, the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), the Followers, and their successors until today, has been recognized as a fundamental process in preserving and transmitting Islamic teachings. Today, more than ever, there is a need for further research and works to distinguish authentic Hadith from inauthentic ones. The aim of this study is to examine the methods of Hadith compilation during the time of the Prophet's Companions (peace and blessings be upon him). This research was conducted using a descriptive-analytical method and employed library resources. The findings of this study indicate that the compilation of Hadith across different eras involved the formation of Hadith science principles, the establishment of Hadith schools, and the creation of reliable sources for Muslims to consult on religious matters. These efforts strengthened the foundations of Islam and facilitated the compilation of authentic Hadith collections in subsequent centuries. The compilation of Hadith during the era of the Companions was not only a necessary action for preserving the Prophet’s teachings but also laid the groundwork for the science of Hadith and its related principles. This research concludes that the compilation of Hadith in the era of the Companions significantly contributed to reinforcing the Islamic foundations and safeguarding authentic Hadith. Furthermore, it highlights the precision and dedication of the Companions, Followers, their successors, scholars, and Hadith narrators in preserving the religion.
