چکیده

Abstract
Self-examination, as a moral practice, is one of the educational methods emphasized in Islam, highlighted both in the Holy Quran and the Prophetic hadiths. Scholars of mysticism and ethics have consistently advocated for this practice. Consequently, individuals are encouraged to continuously evaluate and reflect on their actions. If errors are identified, they must strive to rectify them promptly and address their underlying causes. Similarly, if one realizes they have neglected any divine command, efforts should be made to compensate and foster personal growth and improvement.
This study aims to explore the concept of self-examination and its role in human development from an Islamic perspective. The research addresses two primary questions: What is the nature of self-examination, and how should one engage in it? Moreover, what is the positive role of self-examination in human reformation that merits particular attention?
The study employs a library-based approach, utilizing descriptive and analytical methods to examine these questions. The findings suggest that human salvation is intricately tied to the process of self-examination and the refinement of the soul. Neglecting this practice leads to human misfortune and disgrace by allowing the soul to remain unchecked.
