Abstract
Climate change is recognized as a contemporary global reality and a significant challenge for Earth's geography. The dangers posed by air pollution, greenhouse gases, global warming, droughts, and water crises have potential effects on human economic life, cultural infrastructure, natural geography, and the planet’s ecosystem, ultimately confronting humanity with profound challenges. The present research focuses on the impact of climate change on Afghanistan's economic development, analyzing the country's vulnerability to these changes and assessing the outcomes of climate change on its economic growth. This research begins with the question: How can the threats and risks of climate change to Afghanistan's economic development be mitigated, and how can the country be safeguarded from its vulnerabilities? The aim of this study is to identify Afghanistan's diverse geo-economic and geo-strategic opportunities to combat climate change and to guide the country out of this crisis. The research methodology is analytical-descriptive, relying on library resources, international studies, and theoretical literature. Consequently, it is concluded that Afghanistan can succeed in combating climate change by utilizing its human potential, through proper water management, controlling gas reserves consumption, preserving green lands, and establishing ecological infrastructure, thus transforming the climate crisis into an opportunity.
