Abstract
This article presents a comprehensive comparative study of Arabic and Persian
literature from a structural perspective. As one of the highest forms of human
expression, literature reflects the spirit and culture of societies, and both Arabic
and Persian literatures possess a rich and multilayered history that spans
thousands of years. The research focuses on the cultural and structural identity of
both literatures, discussing literary techniques, poetic forms, and central themes.
A library-based research method is employed, gathering information and data
from diverse sources, including books, scholarly articles, and prior studies.
Literary texts and historical sources are analyzed to identify the fundamental
differences in literary structure between Arabic and Persian literature and to
explore how their core themes reflect contemporary culture and society. The study
also examines the influence of history and religion on the development of both
literatures and how Arabic and Persian literary traditions have influenced each
other over the centuries. The research addresses four main questions: What are
the fundamental differences in literary structure between Arabic and Persian
literature? How do the central themes in each reflect contemporary culture and
society? What is the impact of history and religion on the development of both
literatures? And how have Arabic and Persian literatures influenced each other
throughout history? The findings indicate that while both literatures address
shared themes, they differ in modes of expression and linguistic style. Moreover,
evidence of mutual influence and cultural exchange emerges clearly within the
historical and literary context. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of
these two rich cultural heritages and promotes future opportunities for cultural
interaction and scholarly research.
