Feasibility Study and Challenges of Hospital WasteManagement in Faizabad City: Health and Environmental Approach

 Abstract

Nowadays, the presence of hospital waste, which is considered one of the most hazardous types of waste for the environment and human health, has raised significant concerns. Such waste, when exposed in open areas, not only pollutes the air and environment but also facilitates the transmission of numerous diseases to humans and other living beings. It is imperative to address this issue so that the waste can be properly managed. The primary objective of this research is to raise public awareness about the defects and harms associated with hospital waste, identify the factors contributing to inadequate waste management, and ensure the proper disposal of waste in Faizabad city. This research employs a descriptive analytical method, drawing on information from scientific articles, reputable domestic and international books, relevant national and international journals, as well as interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The findings and results indicate that waste  at all health centers, but there are weaknesses in waste management. Additionally, the absence of waste incineration equipment, improper locations for waste disposal, and in correct burial and incineration of waste are among the major issues. These problems could lead to the spread of deadly diseases in Faizabad city.
