Introduction of Medicinal Plants in Argo District of Badakhshan Province

Abstract
Medicinal plants are among the most important plant species in human life and are used in the health sector. Afghanistan is one of the countries that ranks high in terms of the diversity of medicinal plants. This can provide the medicinal plant sector in Afghanistan. Since medicinal plants have countless values, they are of medical, nutritional, and industrial importance. This research is of the field or local type, conducted using randomly distributed questionnaires to over 370 individuals, interviews, site visits, scientific articles, and reputable books, compiled and arranged in the form of a scientific research paper. The main goal of this research is to identify and introduce different types of medicinal plants in the Argo district. As a result, we were able to identify several medicinal plants such as yarrow, chicory, marigold, borage, hemp, dandelion, cumin, golden sow thistle, mint, thistle, jujube, ginger, and others in this district, which are used for treating ailments such as neurological disorders, lowering blood sugar, healing various wounds including stomach ulcers, disinfecting, reducing blood pressure, headaches, chest infections, enhancing sexual health, coughs, and more from their leaves, seeds, and extracts.
