Explaining Peaceful Coexistence Based on the Theological Thought of Imam Abu Hanifa (may Allah have mercy on him)

Peaceful coexistence is one of the important issues in religious and social discourse that has always been discussed. This issue is particularly significant in societies characterized by cultural، religious، and ethnic diversity. A proper explanation of peaceful coexistence based on religious beliefs has further increased the importance of this subject for followers of different schools of thought. Among the imams of the Islamic schools، Imam Abu Hanifa (may Allah have mercy on him) has always been recognized as a moderate and tolerant figure. One of the most important outcomes of his thought is the clarification of peaceful coexistence in Islamic society. Peaceful coexistence in Islam is not merely a tactical objective; rather، it is founded upon principles such as monotheism، human dignity، justice، and the preservation of the essence of religion. The aim of this article is to explain peaceful coexistence and the role of the theological thought of Imam Abu Hanifa (may Allah have mercy on him) in promoting it. Using an analytical–descriptive method، the study explains peaceful coexistence and examines the salvific views of Imam Abu Hanifa، highlighting the role of his theories in strengthening peaceful coexistence within Islamic societies. This research shows that the theological ideas of Imam Abu Hanifa strongly support peaceful coexistence، both in theory and in practice.
