Abstract
Climate change, as a global challenge, has significant impacts on various economic sectors. In recent years, increasing temperatures and changing precipitation patterns have led to a reduction in agricultural production, one of the main pillars of the economy in Badakhshan province. The objective of this study is to examine the impact of climate change on economic growth in Badakhshan during the years 2014 to 2024. This research employs an analytical-descriptive approach, gathering and analyzing data related to climate change, its factors, and associated damages through a literature review. Additionally, field data was collected by distributing 140 questionnaires to the target population, and the data was analyzed using the SPSS software. The findings indicate that rising temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, droughts, reduced water resources, melting glaciers, and natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes have had severe effects on agriculture, livestock, water resources, economic infrastructure, market instability, and local businesses in the province. Ultimately, this study emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the government, NGOs, and local communities to achieve sustainable development and climate change adaptation.
