The Spirit of Freedom in Pashto Poetry

Abstract
Human beauty and dignity lie in three core elements: knowledge,love, and freedom. Among these, freedom is one of the greatestblessings bestowed by Almighty God. It is considered a fundamentalhuman right and a key to a prosperous and meaningful life. Everyhuman being is born free and deserves to live an independent life. Anation’s most valuable asset is its freedom, as it is through freedomthat comfort, peace, and progress can be attained.This study aims to explore the spirit of freedom as reflected inPashto poetry. The social objective of the research is to raiseawareness among readers about the concept of freedom and tohighlight Pashto poets who have addressed this theme in theirworks. The study’s value lies in its originality—despite theimportance of this theme, it has not previously been examined in thecontext of Pashto poetry. Therefore, it was necessary to investigatethis subject as a research problem. Utilizing a descriptive-analyticalmethod, the findings indicate that while the theme of freedomappears in various literary traditions, it carries particular depth andsignificance in Pashto poetry. The study concludes that Pashto poetshave expressed profound and passionate devotion to the idea offreedom, making it an evident and powerful element of their poeticexpression.
