Abstract
When examining the works of Pashto literature, one can assert, without exaggeration, that there is hardly a theme left untouched by Pashto poets and writers, whether in the form of poetry or prose. Each, within their capacity, has addressed various topics, leaving behind a legacy for their people. It is worth noting that Pashto literature encompasses countless political, social, ethical, patriotic, critical, epic, and philosophical poems and compositions. However, the degree to which these have been collected, explored, and analyzed varies. For instance, no comprehensive study has yet been conducted on the poetry of Suleiman Laiq, especially with regard to the moral and patriotic spirit that pervades his work. This aspect of his poetry remains underexplored, with many dimensions of his ideas and themes still awaiting thorough investigation. Therefore, I took it upon myself to undertake this task in order to delve into the ethical and patriotic elements present in Suleiman Laiq's poetry. In this research article, I aim to explore and explain how these moral and patriotic concepts are intricately woven into the artistic and literary essence of his poetry. These themes not only convey profound ideas and messages but also satisfy the literary and aesthetic tastes of the audience.
Before proceeding, my primary goal is to identify and analyze the moral and patriotic poems in Laiq's work, and to uncover the underlying thoughts and messages that embody the essence of morality and patriotism. By doing so, I hope this research will benefit readers, literary enthusiasts, and especially those with a deep interest in literature and culture.
